Joan Woolwine is an educator with multiple years of teaching and administrative experience in public and private schools and college environments. She began her association with Bea Young Associates in 2005 when her district implemented her Cultural and Equity Audit. Based on this study, the district learned the need to focus on Equity which gave her the resources, experience, and competence to create equitable schools as a principal and district administrator.


Currently, she is honing her consulting expertise at the college level, supervising, and mentoring future principals to incorporate Equity into continuous school improvement which leads to the creation of specific goals and action plans to increase student achievement.


Joan has a BA in Elementary Education from Saint Xavier University and an MA in Education and Type 75 from the University of Illinois Champaign/Urbana.
